چکیده
7.2.1 Orthogonal Signalling Consider the problem of communicating k bits simultaneously. In orthogonal signalling, each of the 2 combinations is encoded as a function x(t) from the family of orthogonal cosine functions. The received signal is decoded by passing it through a bank of correlators followed by thresholding the correlation value. This process can be made more robust by adding an additional layer of coding, such as Reed-Solomon error correcting codes. This process of communication is summarized in the following schematic:

EECS 290 S : Network Information Flow Fall 2008 Lecture 4 — September 9
In this section we wish to prove that there exists a network code, given an acyclic graph. Lets assume we have a graph, as shown in 4.1 above, where each node in the network has a local encoding matrix Aij(α), where α = (α1, α2, . . .) is the vector of coefficients of the linear encoding matrices. We want to show that there exists α such that the global end-to-end matrices {Ai(α), i = 1, . . . ...

1. Many-to-One: Multiple senders sending independent information to the same destination t. The destination t is interested in all of the informations. Common practical scenarios with many-to-one communication pattern include cases when a central node is gathering information from multiple nodes in the network. Note that the solution in this case is categorized not by a single rate but by a set...
متن کاملLectures on Frugal Mechanism Design
These lecture notes cover two lectures from EECS 510, Algorithmic Mechanism Design, offered at Northwestern University in the Spring 2008 term. They cover the topic of frugality in mechanism design. Prerequisites for reading these lecture notes are basic understanding of algorithms and complexity as well as elementary calculus and probability theory. I will also assume that the reader has acces...
متن کاملLocally Decodable Source Coding
Source coding is accomplished via the mapping of consecutive source symbols (blocks) into code blocks of fixed or variable length. The fundamental limits in source coding introduces a tradeoff between the rate of compression and the fidelity of the recovery. However, in practical communication systems many issues such as computational complexity, memory capacity, and memory access requirements ...
